THUNDER BAY, NJ -- The Los Angeles Halos have won their fist Thunder
Bay Baseball Championship. The Halos defeated the defending
TBBL Champion, the Richmond Rockers in 6 games. Manager
Greg W, who was the preseason pick to win it all (see, I know
something after all) led his team to their first playoff appearance en route to their World Championship.
Their post season record was an outstanding 12-5, a .706 winning
percentage. The World Series MVP was Placido Polanco (.370, 4
RBI, 5 RS). Greg was quoted as saying, "Santana pitched maybe
the best game in TBBL World Series history for 8 innings in game 1,
but didn't complete the job. He was let down by the bullpen
and did not get the win. He got the win in his second start
but really didn't pitch all that great. He gave up the lead in
the top of the 6th inning and was saved by Placido Polanco's SF in
the bottom of the inning. The guy who seemed to be in the mix
with key hits and RBIs was Polanco. He would get my vote for
MVP." Congratulations to Greg and his Halo team. |
