2005
National League Division Series
THUNDER BAY, NJ
--
The 2005 National League
East Division Series' will match up the East Division winner and one
of two West Wildcard teams. For the first time in TBBL
history, the home field advantage will go to a team with a worst
record than their opponent. The Crawdads, winners of the East
with an 88-74 record, are led by 1B Paul Konerko (.2680-39-111) and SS
Derek Jeter (.289-30-89). The Crawdads also have a Met flavor,
with budding stars David Wright and Jose Reyes in the infield.
Pitching is the strength of the team, as the Crawdads will throw
Roger Clemens, Mark Prior, Jaret Wright and Al Leiter in a short
series. The Halos season began miserably, falling under .500
early on, but the team didn't quit. Vlad Guerrero
(.319-51-152) and Adrian Beltre (.339-52-157) led the offensive
attack all season, combining for 103 HR and 309 RBI. This
tandem will be difficult to handle in a short series. On the
mound for the Halos will be trade deadline acquisition, Johan
Santana. Santana (16-9, 3.16) made 11 starts for the Halos,
and was impressive in each one. Livan Hernandez, Carl Pavano
and Brad Radke fill out the rotation. This series should be one of the better division
series in 2005. |
