Besides their record, the Ravens and Cannons are two
teams that are equally matched, and the series proved that out:
Game 1: The
Cannons powered by 4 HR’s put up a 10 spot for a 10-4 win and a 1-0
series lead.
Game 2: The
Cannons bullpen couldn’t hold a 4-run lead through 6 and the Raven
pecked (sorry about that) away to send it to extras where Zavala
lined a single to left for the go-ahead run. Ravens tacked on a
second run which they needed in a 6-5 victory in 11 innings. Series
tied a 1-1
Game 3: Pitching did not show up for this game, a total of 18 runs and 27
hits. This time the Ravens put up a 10-spot scoring 5 in the bottom
of the 8th to win 10-8 and a 2-1 series lead.
Game 4: Pitching was back in form for both teams, Lyles, and Snell both go 7
innings, and it was a 2-run 3rd that the Cannons were
able to hang on to a 3-1 win to tie the series at 2 a-piece.
Game 5: This
was a pitcher’s duel, Mahle went 7 strong innings, and the Ravens
were holding onto a 1-0 lead. Ravens manager stuck with Mahle to
begin the 8th a couple of hits and a balk tied the game
at 1-1, Mahle stayed in to face Lopez who tripled to score 2 runs
and the Cannons went on to win 3-1 and the series at 3-2.
